Women In Leadership, KWU’s Inaugural Event

KWU’s lecture hall, Peters Science Hall 201 was at its limit Thursday, March 31, during the 7x7x7 Women in leadership speaker series that followed a welcome reception in the KWU Student Activity Center’s Brown Mezzanine.

Women professionals, as well as Kansas Wesleyan student lead organization representatives spoke to the packed 178 capacity room. As emcee Luci Larson gave an introduction to each speaker, they held the floor for up to seven minutes, telling impactful stories and setbacks that often resulted in successes because of their strength and determination.
The keynote speaker, Kim Grossardt, was the highlight of the evening. Kim’s professional experience includes Sales Associate, Format Aerospace; Co-Owner, Grossardt Investments; Facilities Director/Asst. VP & Marketing Director, Equity Bank; Sr. Manager Mergers & Acquisitions, Pizza Hut.
This year’s event was sponsored by friends and community members: Express Employment Professionals, Mid-Kansas Title Company, Inc., and Patsy & Steve Stockham.
Chair of KWU’s Department of Business and Accounting, Dr. Michelle Case was the organizer and facilitator for this event. At the conclusion of the 7x7x7 speakers, Dr. Case announced the 2023 KWU Women In Leadership will take place Thursday, March 30, 2023 and happily concluded the event saying, “We may need to find a larger venue on the KWU Campus”.
