Hot Wing Challenge on Halloween
Written by Dreylin Kemp on December 6, 2024
On Halloween eve, KWU dining hall hosted a hot wings challenge event. The rules were each participant had to sign a waiver admitting to ignorance of personal danger, swollen lips, dry tear ducts, explosive bodily functions and overall unpleasantness after touching your eyes or various body parts.
Participants must eat 5 different flavor wings as quickly as possible to the bone. With no napkins, drinks, ranch or blue cheese. At the end the participant must lick their fingers and clean the plate. The winner won 10 dollars in flex money and a bottle of special hot sauce. Landon Steeger and Barry Neff were the first winners of the event.
When asked how they felt after the challenge and what they rated it, Steeger expressed how, “it wasn’t that bad, I give it an 8 out of 10 overall”. Followed with Neff agreeing that, “it was kind of easy, I give it a 4 out of 10”. At first students were scared to attempt the challenge, but after a few built up the courage to try and crowds of support started to form a lot more students started participating throughout the evening.
