Homecoming Week Preview

KWU’s annual homecoming week of events is coming soon. It will take place from Thursday Oct. 17. through Sunday Oct. 2
On Thursday, the KWU theater is putting on a production of “Kodachrome” in the Fitzpatrick Auditorium at 7 p.m. There is performances Friday at 7 and Sunday at 2..

They emphasized the Veteran’s Ceremony that will take place on Bevan Green at 11.
The pep rally will be in Muir Gym at noon and Mitchell is excited for the staff vs. student’s dodgeball game he put on.
There is a lecture series in Peters Science Hall 201 from 1-2 with a Q&A afterwards.
The women’s volleyball team will take on Oklahoma Wesleyan at 6 p.m. in which Mitchell says should be a “really good game”.
There is an alumni and friends social after the volleyball match at The Library Sports Bar & Grill at 8:30.
Saturday has even more events starting with the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 8 a.m. in Muir Gym.
There will be pickleball games at 9 where everyone is invited.
There are campus tours from 8-12 for alumni to check out what’s new campus. Everyone will meet on the steps of Pioneer Hall.
The baseball and softball alumni games will be at 11. Mitchell said, “Baseball usually has a good turn out, and lot of alumni who come back out”.
The Coyote tailgate takes place from 10:30 to Noon east of the SAC and the Yotes take on Avila University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
And the newly renovated Sam’s Chapel will host a ‘Come Home’ concert at 7.

On Sunday, the Developmental football team will take on McPherson at 1:30 to wrap up the week.

Becker is confident everything will turn out well, although there are many events goings on and often at the same time.
“Although it is time consuming, everyone pulls their weight”. “It’s important for each department”, both emphasized.
Mitchell also talked about how important it is for him as a former alumnus. “It brings everyone back together, maybe see a few faces you haven’t seen in a while”, he said.
He brought up another point that students participating in events can be beneficial. He said, “We have a lot of alumni who want current KWU students to be successful”. They find students who are looking for internships or jobs”.
