Bowling went down to Waterloo, Iowa this weekend and went on to provide a very impressive performance. Finishing second in the Cedar Valley Invitational it was defiantly a plus performance for the mens bowling squad. The mens squad finished with knocking down 5459 pins. The more impressive part of performance is that they went and competed with number 5 ranked Mount Mercy who went on to win the invitational.
Jackson Penny was the star in the bowling performance as he finished 7th in the whole tournament with a total of 639 pins knocked down. Connor Thomas and Kayden Moline also had constant performances finished 19th and 20th.
When asked about the impressive win Coach Halinski said, “It was a very good weekend… I was very proud of the way the boys went out there and established both sides of the lanes and I think it’s a great momentum shift moving forward.” One thing that stood out was the communication between the bowlers as Halinski stated, “It was a key part in the performance, without that communication there is no way we walk out of there with a second place finish.”
All in all it was a very consistent performance from the Mens Bowling squad with a lot of upside and a lot of confidence moving forward as they will now go into this next weekend looking for a win in the Hoosier Classic.
