Written by Madisyn Ehrlich on February 14, 2025
Poppy and Vine is a locally owned and operated business and boutique that is owned by Kat Jeske. Located in the heart of Downtown Salina at 230 S Santa Fe. They are open from Tuesday-Saturday from 11-6, and were voted Salina’s Best Boutique of 2024.
Even though Poppy and Vine are only open on limited days, that doesn’t stop them from playing a huge role in the Salina community. Poppy and Vine are also supporters of other locally owned businesses in Salina that include places like Evolve Nutrition, Canvas Salon and Suites, Balance Nutrition, and Wallie Wax, and some occasions will bring their accessories and clothing to these small businesses to help support them.
Poppy and Vine sell a variety of different products that range from clothing, jewelry, home decorations, and more. At the store, you can also find inappropriate humor filled products like kitchen towels, magnets, and stickers. If that sort of humor is not for you, don’t worry as Poppy and Vine sells many other products that don’t include any inappropriate humor, including earrings, makeup bags, posters, belt bags, and a variety of other gifts as well. Another popular item that is at Poppy and Vine are the customizable succulent plants and pots, that you can mix and match. To get a better idea of what Poppy and Vine has to offer, you can visit their social media accounts at “Poppy & Vine.”
Members of the Salina Community also agree that Poppy and Vine plays a huge role in Downtown Salina. They all talk about all of the unique gifts and clothing accessories that they can find at Poppy and Vine. Magen Dow, a Kansas Wesleyan student says that “I really like Poppy and Vine for multiple reasons. I like how it’s locally owned, and I think that it plays a big role not only in the downtown aspect, but as well as the community aspect. I also really like how they have a wide variety of products as well, so it makes it fun going into the store and seeing all of the new things that they have. ” Another student said “I really like Poppy and Vine not only because it is a locally owned business, but because of the cool gifts they sell. I always try to support small businesses around Salina, and I would say that Poppy and Vine is probably one of my top places to go. When it comes to their products, I would say that one of my favorite things that they sell are their hats that have inappropriate and funny humor on them. They are super unique as you can’t really find this type of product anywhere else in Salina.”
Poppy and Vine also has a wide variety of Kansas Wesleyan products as well that are tailored towards students. Some of their popular gear that they sell are the Kansas Wesleyan Football hats that have all sorts of designs to choose from. Poppy and Vine also sells Kansas Wesleyan themed purses, clothing, and other accessories as well. One student at Kansas Wesleyan University said “I have previously bought some Kansas Wesleyan University themed items and gear at Poppy and Vine that I have taken and worn to football and basketball games. The hats that they have are really cute, but simple and are perfect to wear at games. I also bought a purse that has the word “Coyotes” on it as well, and I use it all the time.”
Poppy and Vine also stays up to date on all the holidays and sporting events too. In honor of the Kansas City Chiefs making it to the Super Bowl, Poppy and Vine recently announced “The Chiefs Drop.” They announced on their social media that they “will have the cutest trucker hats, hair clips, accessories, and tees to support your Super Bowl Bound team!” It’s also important to note that all of the items and clothing included in “The Chiefs Drop” are all made from small business. Poppy and Vine is also releasing Valentine’s Day inspired products and goodies as well. They have previewed a few of their products on their social page, which include Valentine’s themed candy, jewelry, keychains, bath bombs, and wax melts. If you are interested in what Poppy and Vine has to offer, or just want to shop locally to support their small business, you can look them up on all social media platforms.
