KWU Men & Women Basketball Revenge Bethel

Men’s Basketball
Men strung together two wins over Bethany and a big win last game over Bethel at their place. 71-70. After 10/13 losses has been between 3-5 point differential. One of those losses being against Bethel at home losing a 20 point comeback mid second half.
The Coyotes were finally on the good side of a close game and won by 1 point, Key players were Evens Appolon, who scored a perfect 7-7 17 points, followed by Alex Littlejohn 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Easton Hunter 16 points.It came down to the wire as it has most of the season and the Coyotes were able to get a hand on the ball on Bethel inbound which expired time before they could get a shot off
When asked how it feels to get two wins for the first time in a while? And how the team plans on finishing the rest of the year? Landon Wagler expressed how, “it feels good to finally win 2 in a row again. Especially after losing a lot of close games. Hopefully these wins give us some momentum going into these last 3 games”. The Coyotes are now 12-13 (7-12) with a big home game next against Southwestern college. Keep an eye out and support the men as they push to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Women’s Basketball
On the Women side of things after losing recently to Tabor College in Overtime a couple games ago. Was able to get a gutsy 63-61 win on the road against Bethel College who beat them at home 61-69. Paige Chauncey led Coyotes scorers with 16 points. Followed by Hampton Williams double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. And Angel Lee 10 points.
The team is now 20-5 (16-3) as they as well have a big game against Southwestern College. Kourtney Kaufman mentions how this game “will determine if we win the conference champion outright”. Giving the Coyotes a automatic spot in the NAIA National Tournament.
