Spicoli’s Toasted Subs: A Salina Sandwich Sensation

Welcome back! I’m Jacob Fallon, and today we’ll look at Spicoli’s. Salina is home to a local gem that’s a must-visit for sub lovers: Spicoli’s Toasted Subs. This casual sandwich shop has earned a loyal following for its signature surfer-dude-inspired subs and a wide selection of beers.

Spicoli’s prides itself on using fresh, high-quality ingredients packed with flavor. Their menu offers a diverse range of options, from classic Italian subs with layers of deli meats and cheese to unique creations like the Buffalo chicken sub with tangy sauce. The subs are expertly toasted to perfection, giving them a satisfying crunch that complements the delicious fillings.

The Chosen Sub

On today’s menu we’ll be having the Chicken Bacon Ranch sub. This consisted of turkey, bacon, ranch, pickles, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce, all on a nice toasted hoagie roll. We only got a 4 inch sub, but boy did it pack a punch! it was solid and definitely good it was only $9 bucks and it came with a side as well. So not too bad the sub just had so much flavor and had a diverse menu and it will be a place I’ll go back to and try something else!

The Grades

So for price wise I’d say it’s not that bad and kind of average so that gives it a 7/10 for price. The sub took about 15 minutes to come out, but I have heard from another KWU student is it took them 40 minutes to get his sub, so something that will play into a factor for our service rating. The person also serving me asked multiple times if I wanted a drink so that helps the service rating a bit so we’ll give it a 6.2/10. So lastly the taste and we haven’t had any scores that have blown our socks off yet but the subs itself we gave it a 8.8/10 so that definitely is big and worth it.

Summary:

• Service: 6.2/10: Friendly, food took long to come out than expected
• Price: 7/10: Reasonable for the quality, but not so much the quantity. 
• Food: 8.8/10: Delicious!

Spicoli’s holds the throne as Salina’s number one sub. Will another sub come and knock them off their throne? But if you’re looking for a nice toasted sub for lunch definitely go to Spicoli’s!
