Baseball Wins Series against York

First Game
Kansas Wesleyan defeated York (NE) in the first game of a three-game series Friday afternoon.
The Coyotes took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but York responded with two runs in the second and exploded for five more in the fourth to lead 9-5.
Despite York having 17 hits, KWU mounted a comeback, scoring six runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Fernando Ruvalcaba led the way for Kansas Wesleyan, hitting a homerun and driving in five RBIs. while Blake Dale added a two-run homer.
Garrett Garfield went 3-3 for with an RBI, and Carter Allen had two hits and one RBI.
York’s Ian Heck had three hits and two RBIs.
Kansas Wesleyan’s Riley Gwin held York scoreless in the final five innings, earning the win.
Second Game
To start the double-header on Saturday, the Coyotes defeated York 14-6.
York jumped to an early 2-1 lead thanks to the long ball.
Kansas Wesleyan responded with a dominant second inning, scoring 6 runs to take a commanding 7-2 lead. They added five more runs in the third to extend their lead 12-2. Securing the victory with a final of 14-6.
Tyler Favretto was a standout for Kansas Wesleyan, going 3-5 with a homerun and four RBIs. Jacob Williamson contributed two hits, three RBIs, and a double. Garfield added two hits and an RBI. Joe Finder hit a homerun and drove in three runs.
For York. DeMonte went 3-5 with an RBI, and Heck hit a homerun and drove in two. Reeve also homered, adding three RBIs.
The starter for the Coyotes, Nathan Righi, struggled early but ultimately earned the win. Riley Bradshaw held it down out of the bullpen.
Despite the 12 hits from York, the Coyote offense was too much with 15.
Game Three
In the last game of the series, York got the win 4-2 over Kansas Wesleyan.
York started strong with a one-run first inning and added to their lead with two runs in the third, highlighted by a homerun.
Ian Heck was the starting pitcher and DH for York. He pitched a solid seven innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs while striking out six. That was good for his sixth win of the season.
Kansas Wesleyan struggled to generate offense, despite a homerun by Jacob Williamson in the first, and one from Fernando Ruvalcaba in the third.
The loss went to starter Nathan Galusha, who allowed three earned runs in 2.1 innings of work.
After this series, York moves to 10-15 overall and 7-10 in the KCAC, while the Coyotes are 19-11 overall and 14-4 in KCAC play.
This series put the Coyotes 4th in the KCAC.
