On Wednesday, February 26th, the Kansas Wesleyan University JV flag football team delivered a stunning performance against Bethel College’s varsity girls team, winning decisively with a 47-7 scoreline. The game was an eye-opener for Bethel, who weren’t expecting such a strong challenge from Kansas Wesleyan’s JV squad.

Kansas Wesleyan’s players showcased their depth and talent, with standout performances across both offense and defense. Wide receiver Ashley Hawthorne was a key contributor, leading the team in points scored. Quarterback Emilee Buhl started the game and guided the offense with precision, while Angie Briano stepped in later, adding to the score and showing the depth of talent within the team.

The receiving corps was equally impressive, with players like Lauren Caldwell and Leila Casillan contributing significantly to the team’s offensive success. Their ability to make plays and stretch the field kept Bethel’s defense on its heels throughout the game.

On the defensive side of the ball, Kansas Wesleyan made its mark as well. Lola Randolph was the star of the defense, snagging the team’s first interception of the season. This pivotal play not only boosted the team’s momentum but also highlighted the defensive strength of the JV squad.

Despite the final scoreline, the game was an intense contest, and it served as a reminder of the skill and talent that runs deep within Kansas Wesleyan’s flag football program. The JV team, which is nearly as talented as the varsity squad, showed that they are more than capable of competing at a high level.

With such a strong performance, the Kansas Wesleyan JV team heads into future matchups with increased confidence. Their dominance in this game proves that the team is not only stacked with talent but also has the kind of teamwork and drive necessary for continued success throughout the season.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Kansas Wesleyan’s flag football teams, who are proving that they can hold their own against some of the best competition around.
