La Jerezana: Authentic Mexican?
Welcome back! I’m Jacob Fallon, and today we’ll look at La Jerezana. Salina is home to many Mexican restaurants so still in search of the best we’ll see what La Jerezana has to offer.
La Jerezana offers a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes, including fajitas, hamburguesas, tacos, gorditas, menudo, and seafood. According to Google Reviews, La Jerezana has a 4.5/5 star rating! So is La Jerezana the best Mexican food in Salina? we will see what they have to offer in today’s review. The Food of the Day
So looking at La Jerezana’s menu I decided to get what they call the “Torta.” This is a sandwich that consists of a choice of meat, mayonnaise, avocado, onion, cilantro, lettuce, cheese, tomato, and jalapeño. I elected to go for Carne Asada as I heard from some of my friends that its good. It was about $13 bucks, but it was a decent sized sandwich so not a terrible price. The staff was nice I did order to-go so I didn’t get much of an experience with the staff but for the time I was there they seemed nice.
The Grades
So for price wise I’d say it was more on the expensive side because $13 dollars for a sandwich is a little pricey so that gives it a 5/10 for price. The Torta took about 35 minutes to come out, and I’ve ordered Mexican food before and have never waited that long. When I walked in the person was nice however and as soon as I got in they handed me my food with that being said I’ll give it a 5.5/10. So lastly the taste and I have never had anything like this and definitely was something new. It was very messy to eat and then just quite interesting overall. The ingredients all went well but I feel like it could’ve been better and that landed it a 7.3/10.
Summary:
- Service: 5.5/10: Friendly, food took a while to come out
- Price: 5/10: Overpriced for the quantity and quality of food.
- Food: 7.3/10: Not bad but it could’ve been better
La Jerezana does make a solid argument for the best in Salina but I think it’s too early to say who is the best in Salina. Stay tuned for next week’s review.
