Kansas Wesleyan University (KWU) recently hosted an exciting student event at Sky Trampoline Park in Salina, Kansas, providing students with a fun and fitness oriented break from their academic routines. The event attracted students from all years and programs, promoting wellness, physical activity, and community engagement – key priorities for the university.
A Fun and Active Break for KWU Students
Students from various academic years and programs attended the event, eager to enjoy the wide variety of attractions Sky Trampoline Park had to offer. With features like foam pits, dodgeball courts, and open trampolines, students were able to relax, socialize, and take part in physical activities, providing a refreshing escape from the pressures of university life.
Freshman Aiyana Soltero said, I didn’t know what to expect, but it was such a fun experience! It was great to meet new people and take my mind off school for a bit.”
Promoting Health and Wellness
One of the event’s primary goals was to promote student health and wellness. Kansas Wesleyan has made student wellbeing a priority, and this event was an innovative way to encourage fitness and mental health outside of the classroom.
“We wanted to give students an outlet where they could unwind and get away from their academic pressures,” said the KWU event coordinator. “It’s important for students to have opportunities to connect with each other outside the classroom, and this event was a perfect way to do that while promoting health and fitness.”
Jumping on trampolines offers several health benefits. Many participants found the activity more physically challenging than expected. Noel Zimbeva, a member of the soccer team, said, “Jumping on trampolines is more tiring than I thought, but it’s such a great workout. I had a great time.”
Building Community Off-Campus
Beyond promoting fitness, the event also aimed to build stronger connections among the student body. Sky Trampoline Park’s fun, casual environment encouraged students to interact in new ways and form lasting friendships. Many first year students like Aiyana Soltero felt more connected to their peers after attending the event.
“Hosting events like these is crucial for building a sense of community. It gives students a chance to meet people they might not otherwise cross paths with during their daily routines on campus.” Said the KWU event coordinator.
Looking Forward to More Events
The Sky Trampoline Park event was a success, with positive feedback from students. Kansas Wesleyan plans to promote student engagement and wellness.
“We’re excited to keep offering students opportunities to have fun, stay active, and connect with their classmates,” the KWU event coordinator added.
