KWU Women’s Volleyball First Home Win
Written by Dreylin Kemp on December 16, 2024
Kansas Wesleyan volleyball season has kicked off. The team has an overall record of 7-3 after their first home win against Xavier University last Friday, September 6th. Wesleyan was able to sweep Xavier the first set ending 25-16, the second set ending 25-17, and the third set ending 25-18. After the game sophomore Gianna Adriaanse and junior Kylee Harris were asked a few questions about how they felt after the first home win, a team strength they have, and two things the team wants to accomplish this year. Adriaanse responded, “The first home win felt amazing. There was so much adrenaline with the big student section being present which definitely helped us sweep Xavier”.
A strength the team has Harris emphasized, “the strength to push through when we are having a tough practice or a tough game we are able to work as a team to get through it”. When asked about two things the team wants to accomplish this year Adriaanse and Harris both mentioned how the team wants to become conference champions again after sharing the regular season conference champions title last year. And becoming a family as a team. Big things are expected from the coyotes this year as they are off to a good start to meet those expectations.
