KWU’s New Multi Million Dollar Weight Room

Written by on October 28, 2024

Kansas Wesleyan University recently opened a brand new multi million dollar weight room starting in the fall of the 2024 semester. With a completely revamped weight room and a brand new strength and conditioning coach, KWU is     looking very promising in the athletics department. After winning yet another conference championship in football this might be exactly what the yotes need to get over the hump.

The new strength and conditioning coach Tim Farina, is looking to build more than a strong athletics department. He wants to build culture, pride, and mental fortitude in every athlete. In an interview with athletes surveying and discussing the new weight room many coyote athletes had reviews about the remodel. One athlete said “This is by far the nicest weight room I have ever been in, the custom bumper plates, custom racks, and custom floor mats reminds me of an NFL or D1 college weight room”. Another student said “I couldn’t be happier about the weight room, everything is so nice. The one problem/complaint I would have is there aren’t any bands, bosu balls, medicine balls, or foam rollers which for a lot of people is a really big deal”. A 3rd student, one that has been in the program for a long time stated “coming from a high school with a terrible weightroom, than coming to KWU and being stoked about theres, I’m more than appreciative for the new weight room, when Strong guys and even myself used to come in you would be scared the floor would break due to the lack of proper matts and floor plan. This is not the case now and with everything so customized it truly feels like a Yotes weightroom vs just any kind of weight room.”

With new coaches, staff, and constant change being made, there’s much to look forward to and overall a lot of excitement in the athletics department for the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes with a completely revamped weight room, new full time strength and conditioning coach, and even a brand new dining hall to help athletes better fuel.
