KWU Women’s Volleyball On The Road
Written by Dreylin Kemp on December 16, 2024
Kansas Wesleyan women’s volleyball is now 9-6 after losing back-to-back games on Saturday, September 21st. The coyotes went 0-3 in sets against Dakota State University and Bellevue University. Set totals in the first game were 18-25, 17-25, and 21-25. Set totals in the second game were 14-25,16-25, and 17-25. The team now has a 1-4 away record as the Coyotes seem to be having trouble on the road early in the year. Junior Kate Bebout had noticeable back-to-back games as she led in kills in the first game with 11 and had 7 digs. In the second game, Bebout led in blocks with 2 and led in digs with 11 while having 3 kills.
Coach Biegert or Coach Lane along with Bebout was asked what they think the team does well and could do better on the road Biegert or Lane mentioned, “we have to play through bad spurts and make adjustments as a team quicker so we are not playing behind the whole set“. Bebout believes that, “The team comes to the game focused and ready to play” but also thinks, “we could work on having more energy at away games since we don’t have a home crowd there creating energy”. The Coyotes have two more away games before they return to playing at home. The first one is Wednesday, September 25th at Mcpherson, and the second is on Saturday, September 28th at Ottawa. The Coyotes look to turn things around on the road and get two wins before returning home.
