Written by Dreylin Kemp on December 16, 2024
KWU men’s basketball suffered their first disturbing lost against Friends University 65-88 last Saturday, December 7th. The Coyotes trailed the entire game with the Falcons lead getting up to a high of 25. late in the first half the team was able to cut the lead down to single digits with about 3 minutes to go before halftime, but ended up going into half time down 14. To start the second half the Falcons went up 20, but the Coyotes made the first big run and cut the lead to 7 midway through the half. Until the Falcons responded with 2 dunks and 2 baskets pushing the lead back 17 and the Coyotes never recovered after that point. Alex Littlejohn led the team scoring 19, Easton Hunter behind him with 11, and Dreylin Kemp with 8.
Littlejohn and Hunter both mentioned how, “the team just has to come together and figure things out… so we can get back to winning”. Next game for the Coyotes is at home in Mabee Arena, Wednesday, December 11th, as they look to get back on the winning side against York University at 8pm.
